The world Hyboria is a melting pot of people, cultures and personalities, serving like a twisted mirror of our own world. From the nobles of Aquilonia to the barbarians of Cimmeria and the desert-dwellers of Stygia, all make out the blood that is pumping life through the veins of the world. Just as each of these has been born into their respective clans, tribes and families, they each can follow their own call in life. From the brutal way of the Soldier to the soul-searching ways of the Priest, this amazing universe has something for everyone.

This is the world into which you are born, this is the world where you, too, must choose the path that best suits the nature of your character. You must shape the appearance of your alter-ego from the coloration of your skin to the size of your broken nose, and when you first place your feet in the burning sands of the Barachan Isles you set out on a journey as you have never experienced before. You spend the first hours of the game as a common Cimmerian, Aquilonian or Stygian, before you at level five select among the archetypes Soldier, Mage, Rogue or Priest. Once you are ready to face even bolder challenges you can delve deeper into exciting classes such as Bear Shaman, Druid, Lotus Assassin, Conqueror or Zealot. All along the way there are choices to be made, choices which will shape your very future in the brutal world of Conan.

“Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures” is first and foremost a MMO, which means that you can expect to explore a vast and detailed gameworld filled with content, but it also gives you a unique entry into the world through a single-player experience at the start.

In the MMO world you find thousands of other adventurers, and you can fight them, join them or avoid them. By joining forces with others you can face the dangers of the world together, and thus harvest treasures protected by mighty monsters only groups of players can ever hope to bring down. Besides bringing the most brutal combat experience ever seen in a MMO, Conan also promises to deliver what all fans of MMOs love and enjoy. In this brutal world, conflicts are settled on the edge of a sword, creatures roam the lands in search of throats to cut, and vast battles ends with crows feasting on piles of dead bodies. Original author, Robert E. The struggling human race in Age of Conan fights for fame, fortune and, of course, power. In the world of Hyboria fighting for survival is the way of life, and leagues of men stand ready to conquer land and structures in search for ultimate power. In this brutal universe vast numbers of nations are spread over the face of the planet, and borders and alliances shifts constantly as kings, lords and war chiefs launches assault upon assault against their neighbors, whether it may be nations, cities or other tribes. The political struggles between men is evident through all of the Conan lore, and the battle for power often turns into primal battles for survival and the right to exist as a people.

As a player in “Age of Conan” you can take part in epic conflicts with full force, vying for the ultimate in dominance and power. In the area called the Border Kingdom -- situated outside the game’s three nations Cimmeria, Aquilonia and Stygia -- player guilds can fight for the right to control large battlekeeps. Once captured, players will have to defend their property against the ruthless attacks of other players, driven by both greed and envy. At the same time players can also build entire cities outside the Border Kingdom, which other players can not attack! You must however be prepared to defend them from sieges brought on by computer-controlled enemies hiving next to your city.

• Take part in massive and epic PvP battles, and fight for the right to control large battlekeeps in the Border Kingdom

But while men disappear and leave nothing but rotting flesh upon death, a fallen city can be raised to exceed its former beauty and splendor. This is particularly true in Hyboria, where the work of men rise and fall as if in rhythm with the very ebb and flow of the world itself.

In “Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures”, you and your guild can build your very own city. By claiming a piece of land you get the opportunity to erect a wide range of buildings and city walls. Your guild and its members will have to collect resources such as wood, stone, iron and gold to make the city of your dreams come true. Building such a beacon of civilization naturally attracts unwelcome visitors in the form of invaders, so be prepared to defend it from powerful computer controlled enemies.

• Buy a piece of land, collect resources such as wood and stone, and then erect functional buildings such as the blacksmith, the city hall, the barracks and much more

• Become a resident of your own city, walk around between its buildings and invite other players to come and trade on your streets
